„Machen ist wie wollen, nur krasser.“

Hans-Uwe L. Köhler

The world is full of possibilities. It is only a matter of recognizing them and putting them into practice. The right network and the right partners are often the key to success. Everybody has his or her own passion and should specialize in it. My passion is opportunity and that is exactly what Grotepass Holding is about. We turn opportunities into action!

Crazy ideas become companies. People become entrepreneurs.

A dream becomes success.

Moritz Grotepass

About

I am Moritz Grotepass, founder and owner of Grotepass Holding. I grew up in Quakenbrück, a small town in north-western Germany. When I was asked as a child what I would like to be when I grew up, the answer was always: “Independent!”.

At that time I did not know the difference between freelancing and entrepreneurship. In my opinion entrepreneurship is not about being able to do something particularly well or having a great degree or title. It is about putting the right tasks into the right hands. It is not just about having the ideas, but also about implementing them. You should do what fulfills you, something that motivates you and is fun.

Whoever finds his own true passion and decides to turn it into his job or business, already has way bigger chances for being really successful than most others.

My Story

The idea of turning my hobby into a profession did not occur to me when I was young. There have been 3 points in my life, which had a huge impact on my future career.

My  apprenticeship

As an industrial mechanic at Hormes (https://hormes.de/) in Essen/Oldenburg, which I started after school. The apprenticeship was the most formative time for my further career. I learned a tremendous amount and was able to benefit greatly from the practical work. Working abroad during my apprenticeship also helped me enormously and broadened my horizon.

Traveling

After the apprenticeship, I started traveling. Traveling became my new addiction. In the beginning I had the Idea to just travel for a while before studying. In the end I never went to university. I founded my first company and studied life by discovering the world through fixing and maintaining wakeboarding cables all around the globe. After collecting 10 years of experience and constructing more than 45 Wakeparks, I started to delegate. Now I had the time to think big and really make a difference in the action sports scene. I stopped working as a freelancer and…

I started thinking like an entrepreneur

I understood that I needed to create a team around me to help me achieve my goals. Over time I had also gained a lot of knowledge and experience through trainings, seminars and above all an excellent network of entrepreneurs and mentors, which opened up completely new ways of thinking and new possibilities for me.

Contact

You obviously care what we do. Why are you reading this and how could we support you? I am neither a consultant nor a coach. I have already gone through many ups and downs, which have taught me a lot.

I am sure that passion and courage are much more important than any title or degree. If you have an idea that really drives you or just want to make a difference, feel free to contact me. In the worst case we just expand our network, but maybe we also move on to something big.
